We at Thai Orchid Network will be happy to welcome you in Thailand and at our farm and facilities. In order to make your stay in our Land of Smiles as comfortable and beautiful as possible, we hereunder provide some information and links about our beautiful country.

Thailand is located in South East Asia, bordered by Malaysia (south), Myanmar (west & north), Laos (north & east) and Cambodia (south east). The best season to visit Thailand is the cool season from October to February. Temperatures throughout the year vary mostly from 19° to 38° Celsius and humidity from 65 % to 85 %, although in some (mostly northern) areas sometimes the temperature can drop to near 0° during the cold season around December and January.

Wat Phra Kheaw, Bangkok Bangkok, the capital, is a great place for sightseeing and holidaying. A multitude of Buddhist temples (Wat), the most magnificient ones being Wat Phra Kheaw (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) near the majestic Chao Phraya River as well as the Grand Palace and other monuments as well as the bustling city life make Bangkok a feast for the eyes. There is also the world-famous crocodile farm in Samut Prakarn and other attractions in and around Bangkok. If you want to hunt for souvenirs and Thai handicrafts, the range of products offered will simply overwhelm you.

Excellent restaurants offering delicacies from every part of the world are to be found everywhere. Visit a classical Thai dancing show or a kickboxing venue or experience a relaxing Thai massage or the famous nightlife of Bangkok...

About 2 hours east of Bangkok we come to the seaside resort of Pattaya, one of the longest-established and best-known holiday destinations in Thailand with beautiful beaches, great shopping opportunities and also a dazzling nightlife scene just as lively as Bangkok’s.

2 ½ hours by car south of Bangkok, located on the Gulf of Siam, you will find idyllic Cha-Am and Hua Hin. They are more the famliy type resorts without any nightlife, but offering many miles of unspoiled beaches, beautiful day-trip excursions and an abundance of excellent seafood restaurants - the ideal places to unwind and relax from the bustle of the capital.

Just a good hour's flight from Bangkok lies Phuket - a jewel in the Andaman Sea. This "Dream Island" has it all - tropical palm-fringed beaches, unique limestone caves and formations in picturesque Phang Nga Bay, "hideaways" like Phi Phi Island and Similan Island, top hotels and terrific golf courses - the perfect holiday destination.

On the other side of the Thai peninsular, there are the islands of Koh Samui and Koh Phangan in the Gulf of Siam, also well worth a visit...

Breathtaking natural scenery with jungles and waterfalls, elephant trekking, river-rafting and historical sights of Thailand's recent past like the "Bridge on the River Kwai" and the infamous "Death Railway" await you in Kanchanaburi, a mere 3 hours' drive by car from Bangkok - a truly worthy experience.

The National Park of Khao Yai where still deer, wild boars, porcupines and even wild elephants and tigers roam, can be reached from Bangkok by car in about 3 hours. As it is located on the Central Plains of Thailand at an altitude of about 800 m, the climate there is always pleasant and cooler than in Bangkok.

In Sukhothai many ancient Thai monuments await you. It was here, where during the 13th century A.D. King Ramkamhaeng developed the Thai writing system.

Ayutthaya, the old capital of the Kingdom of Siam (until 1767), also offers an impressive number of ancient temples and ruins.

Chiang Rai
, the gateway to the infamous "Golden Triangle", Chiang Mai, "The Rose of the North", or Mae Hong Son can both be reached by air from Bangkok in just over an hour’s flight. Visit hill tribe villages, taste the cuisine of northern Thailand, take part in elephant trekking or river rafting or just relax and enjoy the breathtaking landscape...
