U.S.D.A. - approved and restricted list of growing media
and packing materials for U.S.A. imports of orchid
plants.
The
United States Department of Agriculture has very strict
requirements that must be adhered to regarding the
importation of orchid plants. Please also see the list of USDA documents.

Restricted articles (orchids) are
to be imported free of soil, earth and other
growing media except as provided below. |

Non-applicable to Asia commercial growers. |

Restricted articles may be established in agar or
other transparent tissue culture medium. |
 |
Epiphytic plants (including orchid plants) may be
established on tree fern slabs, coconut husks or
coconut fiber.
Note: Tree fern slabs
and orchid plants require export documentation
under CITES. |

Roots grown in charcoal are restricted entry into
the United States. |
 |
Non-applicable for Asia commercial growers. |
